App development cost in India in 2026

For business web apps, Neyven has three fixed-price packages: Rescue at ₹75k–1.5L for fixing an app built with Lovable, Bolt or Cursor, Build at ₹1.5L–3.5L for one tool, portal or automation, and Platform at ₹3.5L–8L for multi-module platforms. Published agency ranges are higher, often ₹3–12 lakh for an MVP. The gap comes down to scope and method, covered below.

How much does it cost to build an app in India?

It depends on what the app does, so a single figure is misleading. These are Neyven's own price bands for business web apps: internal tools, client portals, workflow software and MVPs. They are indicative. A written scope with a fixed price comes after a short call.

Neyven price bands (INR). The estimator uses exactly these bands.
BandPriceTimeWhat it looks like
Rescue₹75k–₹1.5L1–2 weeksFix or stabilise an app built with Lovable, Bolt, Cursor or v0
Build₹1.5L–₹3.5L3–4 weeksOne internal tool, client portal or workflow automation, with roles, a few integrations and reports
Platform₹3.5L–₹8L5–8 weeks to first releaseMulti-module operations platform, heavy integrations, AI agents

By type, a typical build with two roles and a couple of integrations looks like this: internal tool ₹1.7L–₹2.5L, client portal ₹1.9L–₹2.9L, workflow automation ₹1.7L–₹2.4L, MVP ₹2.2L–₹3.5L.

Why are other agency quotes higher?

Published Indian guides give larger numbers. Ecorpit lists a simple MVP at ₹4–12 lakh, and Zartek puts a tightly scoped MVP at ₹3–5 lakh. See the sources at the bottom of this page. Scopes differ between agencies, so compare what each number includes (platforms, design, testing, support) before comparing the totals.

Neyven's bands apply to business web apps with a defined scope. Three things make the difference:

  • Scope. We quote a narrow first version and add modules later.
  • Method. Agents handle implementation, tests and review under a person's control, which cuts build time. See how we build.
  • Platform. Web apps that run in a browser skip two native app builds.

A fair warning: Unicoconnect notes that quotes far below normal bands can signal junior teams. A low price should come with a written scope, a named person responsible and code you own. If a quote has none of those, ask why.

What drives the cost of an app?

  • User roles and permissions. Each role needs screens and rules.
  • Integrations: payments, WhatsApp, accounting, SMS, email, government or partner APIs.
  • Approvals and business rules, which are harder than lists and forms.
  • Reports and dashboards.
  • Native mobile apps, which add a separate build.
  • AI features. One feature adds ₹40k–₹1L; an agent that acts adds ₹1L–₹2.5L.
  • Data migration from spreadsheets or old software.
  • Compliance needs, such as payments or personal data handling.

What costs come after the build?

The build is not the whole bill. Plan for:

  • Hosting and domain, paid to the cloud provider. For most business apps this is small compared with the build.
  • Third-party fees: WhatsApp messages, payment gateway charges, SMS, AI model usage.
  • Maintenance and improvements. A common rule of thumb is 15–20% of build cost per year, as in Mind Studios' cost guide.
  • Your own time: someone on your side needs to review and decide each week.

With Neyven there are no per-seat licence fees. The code, deployment and accounts are yours.

How can you keep the cost down?

  1. Start with one workflow and ship it. Add the second after you see it used.
  2. Use web, not native apps, unless you really need an app-store presence.
  3. Write down your must-haves and your nice-to-haves before you ask for quotes.
  4. Give real sample data early. Clean data saves days.
  5. Name one person who can say yes or no quickly.

Frequently asked questions

Is ₹1.5L enough to build a real app?

For a single workflow with one or two roles, yes: that is the start of the Build package. Several integrations, payments or AI move you up the range. See the 'what you get at each Neyven price' guide for what is included.

Do you charge hourly?

No. You get a fixed price in a written scope, paid in milestones.

Does the price include design?

Yes. A clickable prototype in week one is part of every project.

Is GST extra?

Yes. Quotes are before applicable taxes unless stated.

Do you build native mobile apps?

Our focus is web apps that work on a phone browser. Native apps are scoped case by case and cost more.

Why is there a range instead of one price?

Because scope varies. The range narrows to one fixed number once we have the written scope.
